* This position involves daily exposure to factory environment which includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise areas, chemical hazards (breathing and handling), and entering airplanes during their many stages of build. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Engineering degree in any of the following majors: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology
* 5+ years of experience with the design of structural and electrical rework/repairs to restore the aircraft or system to original design capability.
* Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
* Previous Commercial Material Review Experience, Boeing or Airlines Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experienced in reading/creating Engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and design manuals.
* Minimum of 8 years’ experience with any of the following: avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting
* Experienced in researching engineering designs in order to develop defect solutions to product/ process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
* Minimum of 8 years’ experience of assisting with analyses, root cause analysis, and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience collecting, researching, and evaluating issues for product/process improvement opportunities that may include recurrent product issues
* Materials Review Board (MRB)/ Universal Product Review (UPR) approval authority certification.
* Executive interior installation/design experience.
* Modification & Repair experience on wide-body aircraft. Responsibilities Include:
* Applies broad knowledge of Boeing design and/or engineering principles.
* Assesses and resolves product/process issues through the product lifecycle.
* Leads research of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.
* Leads others to analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
* Develops and implements product/process improvements.
* Uses innovative approaches and unique applications to address complex nonconforming conditions and to detect deviations.
* Analyzes reported problems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages complex resolutions. Leads the development of interim and final solutions.
* Provides design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
* Represents the engineering community in the build through the post-production environment.
* Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with company standards.
* Develops customer correspondence for the continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
* Leads activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and accident investigation or support teams.
* Designs appropriate jacking and shoring schemes. Leads the design of interim structural repairs and conducts static strength analysis.
* Develops and leads non-destructive test procedures, tools, and standards. Ensures supplier and build partner compliance with company standards.
* Develops and implements technical training curriculum for internal or external customers.
