Join our Tactical Mobile (TacMobile) team as an RF Engineer, supporting the development and sustainment of advanced communication systems for USN and FMS customers. This position is in Patuxent River, MD and is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage your RF expertise to support the development and testing of next-generation Navy communication systems, ensuring the delivery of secure and reliable communication capabilities
Design and evaluate radio system resiliency in areas such as Anti-Jam, Low Probability of Detection (LPD), Low Probability of Intercept (LPI), or Low Probability of Geolocation (LPG)
Support fundamental testing of tactical radio equipment within integrated networks, with a focus on software defined radios and cyber resiliency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and conduct tests, including feasibility studies, requirements-based testing, and parametric optimization studies
Troubleshoot and investigate difficult problems across RF-related components and provide engineering expertise to support Systems Integration Test and Evaluation (SITE) Integrated Product Team (IPT) efforts
Create test reports, out briefs, and status reports to upper management and customers, ensuring timely and effective communication of results and recommendations

The successful candidate must have:
10 Years of professional experience with RF engineering.
Experience with radio communication systems, Radio Frequency (RF) testing, and system engineering.
Demonstrated experience with best test practices, including formal, requirements-based testing.
Expertise in operation and analysis of High Frequency (HF) communication systems.
Direct experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, power meters, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Experience in networking concepts such as IP, routing, Unicast/Multicast protocols, UDP, TCP, and the OSI model.
Knowledge of wireless communications concepts such as propagation, fading, interference, and modulation.
Experience of RF performance measures such as gain, VSWR, phase noise, and noise figure.
Experience with maintaining and debugging networking test equipment including switches, routers, and traffic generators.
Ability to effectively communicate via oral, and written communications with senior management and technical staff.
Experience with RF system components such as amplifiers, filters, mixers, couplers, splitters/combiners, and antennas.
Master’s degree preferred.
TacMobile experience.
Test experience with DoD wireless communications systems or applications.
Knowledge and experience of military communications systems including modulation and coding techniques, MAC techniques, and routing protocols.
Knowledge and experience with testing EW and resiliency capabilities of DoD RF communications systems.
Knowledge of 3dB Labs SCEPTRE Signal Processing System.
Specific knowledge of BLOS waveforms such as HF, MUOS, Tactical SATCOM, etc.
Experience with tactical radio systems such as the AN/PRC-152A, AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-160, AN/PRC-158, AN/PRC-163, AN/PRC-167.
Knowledge of software and toolsets including SPIRENT TestCenter, MGEN, iPerf, Keysight Benchvue, JMP, Wireshark, VMware, SNMP, scripting languages.
Experience with basic scripting languages such as Python.
Experience with MATLAB or other signal processing software.
Experience with GNURadio.
Development experience with common SDR systems (e.g., Ettus Radios).
Strong background in Linux operating systems.
Experience with SIGINT or ELINT tools and techniques.
