Be a part of the Artemis and Orion teams taking astronauts to the Moon and beyond. This is your chance to be at the center of a generational program that will land the first woman and person of color on the Moon. As Structures Engineer on the Orion program located at the Kennedy Space Center, you will be responsible for the planning, preparation, and execution of Mechanical Engineering activities for the Orion spacecraft for Artemis II (first crewed flight), Artemis III (lunar landing), and future missions.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:

• Oversee the development, production, assembly, and verification of the spacecrafts structure
• Be the technical advocate through the products lifecycle
• Support systems/hardware integration, test planning and execution
• Lead nonconformance evaluations, failure investigations and anomaly resolution boards for the spacecrafts structures components
• Collaborate with team members across the program including systems engineering, CPEs/RSEs, test labs, manufacturing, quality, and NASA
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors or higher degree (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field preferred)
• Understanding of Aerospace Structures components design, manufacturing, and materials
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting real time build operations
• Experience dispositioning non-conformances
• Experience creating 3d models and drawings in CREO parametric
• Experience interpreting and implementing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
