Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe management of the day to day flying programme whilst providing shift based supervisory support to team members to ensure that punctuality, efficiency and guest satisfaction targets are met.
Functional Duties
-Constantly strive for and challenge any threat to safe operations be that of company assets or staff.
-Overall shift based responsibility for Operations room and network health on day of operation to day of operation +24 hrs.
-Shift based escalation point for all stakeholder teams to ensure effective decision making and direction.
-Lead, guide and maintain focus for the entire stakeholder team (Operations, Flight Dispatch, Crewing, MOC, GS, Ramp, IFC, Preflight) during irregular operations and disruption, including Incident Management protocols.
-Providing direction to all shift based teams and act as an effective escalation point with regard to potential disruption, potential action paths and a final decision point.
-Supervise Service Providers on a day to day basis to ensure company service standards are maintained.
-Responsible for initiation of (and confirmation of handover to or stepdown from) ERP, Bomb Warning / Threat and business continuity protocols.
-Lead shift based stakeholder briefings (planned and adhoc) based on operational requirements.
-Administer all shift resource issues or changes be that manpower or equipment.
-Receive handover from Operations Planning regarding operational programme risks and new parameters to ensure clarity and harmonisation of approach on day of operation.
-Maintain shift based ownership of the videowall – presenting critical information necessary for operations to include (but not limited to) flight following and alerting.
-Review turnaround or aircraft movement of target flights to ensure proper time given to assign an aircraft for below wing activities (Apron, baggage handling, IFC, cargo, Refueler etc)
-Airport walkaround to observe Terminal and Gate management of passengers at the boarding gate
Minimum working experience:
Preferably with at least 3 years of experience in airline, airport or ground handling operational environment.
Education:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Airline Operations/Airport management, Hospitality/Tourism/Hotel management, Logistics/Transportation, Flight Dispatch License or equivalent.
Professional qualifications:
Familiar with crew, schedule and engineering limitations and impacts.
Proficient in both written and spoken English.
Training required for the position (if any):
Proficient in Microsoft and Google software.
Familiar with AIMs and Navtech systems will be added advantages.
