The leader partners closely with Engineering, Programs, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Contracts to enable program execution from concept through sustainment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy and Team Leadership

  • Translate business priorities into sourcing and procurement fulfillment strategies for assigned Edison Works programs, aligned to SQDC outcomes
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of sourcing and procurement professionals, support talent development, engagement, and succession within the broader organization
  • Execute category and supplier strategies (segmentation, make/buy recommendations) in alignment with functional and business direction
  • Establish operating rhythms and KPIs for the team to drive performance visibility, escalation, and rapid problem-solving

2. Procurement Fulfillment and Execution

  • Own purchase order execution and material availability for assigned development and production programs
  • Ensure effective MRP/ERP execution, including planning parameter health, clear-to-build attainment, and schedule adherence
  • Lead expediting and recovery actions to resolve material constraints; drive tiered supplier management and escalation where required
  • Partner with Operations and Program Management to align material readiness with program schedules, milestones, and customer commitments

3. Supplier Management and Performance

  • Manage key supplier relationships within scope; lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and agreements (including LTAs) in coordination with category and commercial teams
  • Improve supplier performance on OTD, quality, and capacity using QMS rigor, APQP/PPAP, and effective corrective action management
  • Support dual/multi-sourcing, qualification, and supplier development to reduce risk and increase agility for critical parts and technologies
  • Drive cost productivity initiatives, including should-cost/clean-sheet activities and value engineering projects, in partnership with Engineering and Finance

4. Compliance, Risk, and Security

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and export control requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR) and internal GE Aerospace policies
  • Identify and manage supply risk for critical parts, sole/single-source items, and classified programs; support mitigation plans and risk reviews
  • Maintain data integrity and traceability across sourcing and fulfillment processes; ensure audit readiness and uphold the highest standards of integrity and safety

5. Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with Engineering on design-to-cost, manufacturability, and early supplier engagement for new and existing programs
  • Partner with Quality on supplier qualification, escape prevention, RCCA, and nonconformance management
  • Work with Finance on budgets, standard cost, cash, inventory turns, and working capital objectives for assigned scope
  • Support Program Management with material readiness, IMS alignment, and risk/mitigation inputs for key milestones and customer reviews

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Apply lean principles to streamline source-to-pay and procurement fulfillment processes within the team’s scope
  • Standardize work, reduce lead times, and digitize workflows; use data and analytics to drive proactive actions and decision-making
  • Optimize inventory (safety stock, planning parameters), and reduce premium freight and non-value-added activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5 years of progressive experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or operations, including experience in a manufacturing or aerospace/defense environment
