Job Description

AirAsia X is seeking a dynamic and competent Station Manager – Tashkent International Airport (TAS) to be part of the best airline team in the sky!

The overall purpose of the role is to ensure the effective and efficient management of our station in Tashkent. This position is accountable for on-time departures, baggage handling, excess baggage collection, and travel document compliance. The Station Manager is also responsible for maintaining the highest levels of safety, security, and service standards for ground operations at the station.

Traits

We’re looking for a strong leader — someone with a natural talent for managing, motivating, and inspiring teams to deliver beyond expectations. Many of the people you’ll work with may not be direct employees but partners, agents, and other stakeholders — and you’ll need to rally them toward shared goals.

You must have a deep passion for understanding passengers — their needs, their journeys, and how to elevate their experience every time.

You’ll also be part of the leadership fabric of AirAsia X, contributing to the strategic direction of the company. We need someone who is not only great at execution but also has vision and strong business acumen.

In a team that thrives on collaboration, debates, and bold thinking, you must bring strong convictions, respect for diverse perspectives, and a willingness to challenge and be challenged — all in the spirit of progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure optimum payload, safe, efficient, and on-time departures

  • Oversee passenger, baggage, and cargo handling in line with company procedures

  • Monitor Ground Handler performance to meet AirAsia X service standards

  • Ensure full compliance with company accounting procedures at the station

  • Maintain strong working relationships with local government and regulatory bodies

  • Provide leadership and support to station personnel, ensuring operational manuals are updated and accessible

  • Manage and be accountable for any monetary transactions at the station

  • Coordinate with agencies to enhance performance and profitability

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs

  • Submit daily and monthly reports to Headquarters on time

  • Make operational decisions within authorized scope, escalating when necessary

  • Strive for zero defects in ground handling services

  • Ensure on-time performance through effective coordination with Ground Handlers and CIQ authorities

  • Represent AirAsia X in airport-related meetings and official functions

  • Liaise with CIQ, police, civil aviation, and other security authorities as required

  • Verify and approve invoices related to station operations before submission to Finance

  • Respond to guest complaints with prompt and appropriate remedial action

  • Ensure station expenditures remain within budget

  • Ensure station operations comply with regulatory safety, security, crisis, and emergency standards

  • Compile and maintain all required reports, statistics, and budgets for the station

  • Oversee revisions and updates of station manuals and compliance with audit requirements

  • Maintain authority to make decisions related to low-risk safety/security events and escalate higher-risk issues as needed

  • Ensure ground operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations and AAX standards

Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma/Degree in any discipline OR equivalent extensive experience in airport operations

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in team leadership within airline ground operations, preferably as a Station Manager

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with airport authorities and regulators

  • Skilled in managing a diverse, shift-based workforce

  • Proficient in:

    • Government regulations (customs, immigration, CIQ matters)

    • Company policies and SOPs

    • Dangerous goods handling

    • Aircraft loading procedures

    • Flight security and incident reporting
