In this role, as part of the Data Science & AI team, the candidate will contribute to the development and deployment of modern machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical & probabilistic methods, operations research, semantic analysis etc. for finding structure in large data sets. Role Overview
The Data Scientist will be responsible to work on data science projects under the limited guidance of senior team members and deliver business outcomes. Key responsibilities include –
Understand business problems & processes and develop & implement data science models, including artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Work alongside data scientists, data engineers, software developers, program managers, product owners and functional stakeholders to translate algorithms into viable products and services.
Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data pipeline.
Perform exploratory and targeted data analysis using descriptive statistics and other methods (including collecting, preprocessing, and analyzing large datasets to be used for training and testing machine learning models)
Under the guidance of senior members, work with cross functional teams to deploy data science models into production environments and monitor & maintain deployed models to ensure they perform as expected.
Develop basic domain expertise and understand key elements of program planning.
Optimize machine learning models for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Be aware of latest advancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Explore and implement new machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques and tools to enhance the teams capabilities.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of machine learning models, algorithms, and processes.
Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate the work and outcomes.
Share and discuss findings with team members.
The Ideal Candidate:
Required Qualifications
M.Tech / M.E. / M.S. or an equivalent Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Statistics or a related STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with analytics development experience
Proficiency in Python (mandatory) & SQL and familiarity with Python web frameworks .
Demonstrated skill and hands-on experience of implementing GenAI solutions (including including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and leveraging pre-trained models).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Databricks etc.) and their AI/ML services.
Demonstrated skill in data quality assessment, data cleaning & pre-processing.
Demonstrated skill in the use of artificial intelligence, machine learning and applied analytics (statistical & probabilistic) methods for solving business problems.
Demonstrated skill in data visualization and storytelling for an audience of stakeholders.
Has a basic understanding & awareness of GE Aerospace business and how the solutions they are developing create value.

Can run and interpret black-box algorithms to builds models (random forests, neural networks, …)
