JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Janitor

Department: CVG 145 Line Maintenance

Reports To: CVG Materials Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

Keep buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly fashion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure a clean working environment

1. Conducts weekly inventory of supplies and equipment needed to maintain sanitation

1. Sweep and scrub floors, wax floors as required
2. Clean sinks, bowls, fountains, and other sanitary stations

1. Clean and polish floors, halls, and other areas

1. Collect and dispose of trash
2. Replenish tissue, towels, soap, and other sanitary stations

1. Grounds maintenance and shovel snow

1. Perform any other janitorial work necessary in connection with plant operation

1. Minimal maintenance of the outside grounds (emptying trash, clearing the front yard as necessary, clearing the walkways of snow)
2. Any other duties assigned by the CVG Materials Manager and company needs

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must have high school diploma or GED.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give a verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The candidate must be able to work overtime and/or weekends within reason.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employees will perform duties in a maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
